Mindy Kaling Is Driving Some Serious Crowds to McNally Jackson Right Now

Like the rest of the country, New York absolutely adores Mindy Kaling. The actress and comedienne is currently on a national book tour promoting her highly-anticipated second novel, Why Not Me?, and today's stop was at New York's favorite independent bookstore: McNally Jackson.

Even an hour before Kaling's expected arrival, there was a line curving the block — it practically stretched into Little Italy. The huge crowd isn't unexpected, though: Kaling's The Mindy Project is currently the second-most popular show on Hulu, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Kaling will be at McNally Jackson until 6:30. It's probably too late for you to go pick up a book to get signed, but maybe you can lurk around the store in the hopes of catching a glimpse of her on the way out.
