Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
WILLIAMSBURG—Expect lots of purrs and tail wags this Saturday outside of vintage store Antoinette. From 1pm to 4:30pm an ASPCA adoption mobile truck will be parked outside with your potential new best kitty- or doggy- friend. To sweeten the pot, cocktails will be served in the store, and select merchandise is 40% off. You’re going to end up leaving 115 Grand St with either a new wardrobe of vintage gems or a furry new roommate (but hopefully both).
FORT GREENE—Celebrate the season at Jill Lindsey's Fall Festival, taking place all day Saturday at 370 Myrtle Avenue. There will be mulled wine, apple cider, and pumpkin carving (pumpkins will be available for sale, or just BYO-pumpkin). If you stick around until 6pm, the band Oracle Room will be playing a set in the backyard space.
SOHO—After checking out the Diesel sample sale on Saturday, head over to the brand's flagship (135 Spring St) between 1pm and 7pm for a customizable tee-shirt station, free drinks, and a live DJ. You'll get the shirt for free if you spend $98, or you can buy one for $49 instead.
MIDTOWN—Browse an immersive marketplace filled with the best of the best Peruvian Design at El Mercado Peru. If pre-holiday season is a thing, this pop-up is owning it, running from this Sunday, October 18th through November 15th. Explore the exhibition of accessories and home and kitchen goods seven days a week from 10am to 8pm at the Roger Smith Hotel (501 Lexington Ave).
