The Calypso St. Barth sale kicked off today, and inside the brand's Broome Street store, we found tons of polar vortex-appropriate pieces among the summery, bedazzled caftans and flow-y skirts.
A warning for all those who enter: pricing is relatively complicated, and yes, math is involved. Each item is priced individually, with two or three markdowns already noted on each tag. To find the cost of an item, take the lowest number on each tag, then discount it by 60%.
Though none of the clothes seemed to be true samples (and everything was in stellar condition), sizes did tend to run small—we only spotted few larges on the racks. Mostly everything in the store is from the Calypso brand, with the exception of a few pairs of AG and Paige denim (both $107.40) along with a small assortment of others.
The stars of the show, though, were the sweaters: while mostly in the $100 to $200 range, there were plenty of chunky turtleneck and cashmere varieties to keep warm throughout the winter.
We also spotted a few tops and dresses under $200, including a gorgeous hand-embellished dress made in India ($65), a very French-girl striped sweatshirt dress ($83.40), and a luxuriously heavy velvet top ($91.60). The only accessories we spotted were a few pieces of jewelry, all around $100 each, located in a small box near the checkout counter.
As the merchandise has been marked down heavily already, we're not expecting to see any further markdowns—but if word of discounts comes our way, we'll be sure to keep you posted. For hours, dates, and locations, see the Dealfeed below.
