When you walk into Reed Krakoff's new Soho boutique, you might think that you've accidentally stumbled into an art installation that happens to have some clothing for sale. "The idea was to have a space that combines art and fashion and design in a way that is sort of un-self-conscious and natural," Krakoff told T magazine of his 2,700 square foot shop.
That idea includes light fixtures appearing to break through walls, the felt "Clouds" installation by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec (pictured above), and a series of chairs that Krakoff designed with his wife that are installed as shelving. "It's different than the typical shopping experience," he added. See for yourself when the doors open tomorrow at 93 Greene Street.
