Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This certainly isn't the Cube 2.0. Curbed NY found the above rendering for Apple's first-ever Brooklyn store at 247 Bedford Avenue, and those looking for some futuristic design á la the Fifth Avenue store will not be happy. The plans drawn up by Marin renderings look like a refurbishment of the already-existing brick structure—but as our sister site points out, these renderings were made before Apple had been announced as a tenant, so construction plans could have changed since then.

Last we heard, construction is scheduled to be completed in April, the same month that Apple plans to reveal its long-awaited watch.
