A tipster just alerted us to the above Instagram photo posted on Bloomingdale's with a caption that reads: "Our Big Brown Bag made it to Brooklyn!" It's geotagged in Dumbo and looks to be taken (or Photoshopped) in front of the Rainbow Wall (it's also the second photo they've posted from the borough within a week).
We've reached out to the department's store press team about a potential new location and will update when we hear back.
Bloomingdale's pioneered the concept of an offshoot location within the city when it opened its Soho store a decade ago, and now big players like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus are following suit with stores in the Financial District and Hudson Yards, respectively (Neiman Marcus is the parent company to Bergdorf Goodman). Even Nordstrom, which has yet to open its first New York City location, is rumored to be scouting for its second home already.
