Yesterday marked the debut of the concept shop for Brand Assembly on the second floor of Lord & Taylor, complete with a runway show, open bar, and live DJ. It's a fashionable step forward from the department store's usual offerings—not to mention price point. With a Sachin & Babi sweater priced at $425 and an Oliveve backpack for $365, regulars could experience a bit of sticker shock that comes with the new contemporary offerings.
The concept shop, whose other up-and-coming contemporary brands include Daniella Kallmeyer, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Saunder, Calla, and Priory of Ten, is available exclusively at the New York flagship and online in limited quantities (many pieces are already sold out on the latter). Next up? Birdcage, set to debut in October.
