Close you eyes and picture the line that snakes around the Union Square Trader Joe's on a typical Sunday afternoon. Now close them tighter and combine that line with the scene outside of an Opening Ceremony sample sale and you have a glimpse of the collab that never was—O.C. x T.J.

The store's co-founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon recently sat down with the Los Angeles Times, where, in addition to detailing their plans to plop an Opening Ceremony in "every major city in the land," they talked about their ultimate fantasy collaboration. "We think about doing groceries with Trader Joe's all the time," Lim said. "Don't think we haven't put in a call," Leon added. "They are like Ft. Knox." Let's all think about the neon-crackle-finish chocolate-covered almonds and special edition Ryan McGinley cookie butter packaging we'll never get to enjoy.
