Lush Cosmetics has reopened in Herald Square at 44 West 34th Street, just around the corner from its original location, and the brand's fifth NYC outpost features its most experimental concepts yet. Along with reclaimed wood walls and repurposed electrical component boxes, the store includes a section that's meant to replicate the feeling of a farmer's market or gourmet grocer.
The new eco-friendly elements will be a part of future Lush store designs, a rep from the store explained to us, and includes handwritten informational blackboards lining the walls and hung from the ceiling, a special soap counter for weighing and wrapping, and rustic vintage furniture throughout the store.
And what exactly is that Fresh Bar? One of the store's focal points will be a station where customers can receive a complimentary skin consultation and try out Lush's facial treatments, which are made from fresh fruits and vegetables.
