It's Showtime

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The designer costumes for tomorrow's New York City Ballet fall gala are almost stage-ready—and our sister site has the scoop. Racked National visited Lincoln Center to check in on the progress of this year's tutus (and ballet blazers!), designed by Sarah Burton, Mary Katrantzou, Thom Browne and Carolina Herrera. Some of the more complicated looks took the team nearly 40 hours to create—head over to see the (predictably gorgeous) results of all that work. [Racked]
