If last night's Gilt City preview was an inkling of what the Scoop NYC warehouse sale will be like today, than prepare for major crowds. A line of pass holders was waiting to get in at 260 Fifth Avenue a half hour after the preview started, and once we got inside, we instantly understood what the craze was all about—dresses by Zac Posen and Roberto Cavalli for under $200 was just the beginning of what we would find for up to 80% off.
Everything is organized by category, with womenswear on the right and menswear towards the left. First we sifted through jackets and outerwear. While we didn't find many heavy coats, there were some sick leather finds, like an L.G.B leather jacket for $430 and an MSGM white leather and floral moto for $304. We also overheard a woman talking about the Burberry leather moto she found for under $400.
Next came the dresses, where there were pieces for all seasons. There was a black and gold Roberto Cavalli dress for $199, a black Zac Posen dress for $158, and a floral Mary Katrantzou dress for $493. More casual pieces included a T by Alexander Wang sweater dress for $55 and a dress by Sea for $79.
The long rack of knits and tops had everything from a chunky grey Scoop NYC sweater for $79 to a Marc by Marc Jacobs black silk and lace blouse for $60. There were also tons of those awesome basic Scoop NYC tees and tanks starting at $12.
Pants and denim are one rack over from here, with denim brands that include AG, Rag & Bone, Mother, and Citizens of Humanity. The AG ankle legging was $38, and a pair of relaxed striped Mother jeans was $40. We also found some awesome Suno jogging pants for $85.
The shoe section was the most populated area of the sale last night. Pedro Garcia suede boots were $119, Nike Hi Dunks were $24, B Brian Atwood coral suede pumps were $79, and a single pair of Jimmy Choo black leather boots was $230—if you're a 9.5, it's your lucky day.
Other accessories on sale included straw hats for $22, Scoop NYC scarves for $45, and Missoni headbands for $36. There were lots of bags by Via Buia and Tila March, but the winning piece was a red Margiela shoulder bag for $351—it did have some scratches, but it made the bag look even cooler and more worn in. We still regret not buying it.
The men's selection was a bit smaller than the women's, but a lot less crowded. There were a ton of shirts, from button downs by Etro for $80 to $25 tees from Shipley & Halmos. We also saw a Rag & Bone blazer for $90 and a really comfy looking pair of Vince cords for $40.
While waiting on the long, long line to checkout, have a look at the jewelry. There are pieces like a blue gem cuff for $126, and a really fun turquoise monkey ring for $285.
There are no fitting rooms at this sale (likely because stock takes up the entire floor) but men and women alike had no problem stripping down between the racks to try stuff on. The stock will absolutely be replenished—in fact, a shipment is expected to arrive today. The sale runs through Sunday afternoon—check the Dealfeed below for more details.
