It's been nine months since news broke that Givenchy would be returning to the New York City retail scene with a Madison Avenue store at 65th Street, right next to Alexander McQueen. "Holiday 2014" was the projected opening date, but since it's been awhile since we heard anything, we scoped out the boutique-to-be today looking for an update.
According to an employee at McQueen, the high-end French brand had planned on opening the boutique in October, but "that's probably not happening," he said. The construction site was boarded up two weeks ago because it looked like a big ol' mess, and progress has been slow, he added. We're keeping our fingers crossed that a 2014 opening is still in the works.—Hannah Eshaghian
