Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Today's the day that Michael Stars opens its doors in New York City—albeit temporarily. The California-based brand that you were probably obsessed with in middle school has finally established a pop-up shop at 32 Gansevoort Street, where most of its 2,000 square feet will be dedicated to its latest, NYC-inspired womenswear collection.

Boyfriends, husbands, brothers et al. should come along too to check out the new menswear offerings, plus bags from the likes of Will Leather Goods; denim from DL1961 will also be available for both sexes. This is part of a major "east coast push," according to the brand (whose only tri-state area store is in East Hampton)—let's just hope their moment hasn't passed.
