Joining the list of other major New York City stores opening this season is ex-Coach creative director Reed Krakoff with his second city outpost in Soho, WWD reports. The store at 93 Greene Street is slated to open in November.
"New York is our home," Krakoff told the paper. "It's where we have a strong consumer base. It made sense to leverage that awareness by opening a second location downtown."
Krakoff's only other store in the world right now is on Madison Avenue, but the brand will see its Paris flagship open just before Soho in October.
Expect this downtown store to have a "luxurious industrial" feel, with contrasting elements like raw oak floors, gunmetal racks, and cobalt accents housing the designer's full range of apparel, accessories, leather goods, and shoes, the paper reports.
Krakoff will certainly be in good company here: MCM s building a flagship store in the former home of Jill Stuart at 100 Greene Street this fall, while Rebecca Minkoff will finally open at 96 Greene Street on November 12, two years after it was first announced. Dior also quietly opened on the block earlier this year.
