The Oak warehouse sale officially began this morning, but last night we got to check out the scene at 28 Bond St before the crowds. Clothing from brands like Cheap Monday and Kai Aakmann is up to 90% off, so in terms of stock and pricing, we thought this sale was a hit. The downside: most of the clothing is in bins on the floor, and crouching while shopping is never fun.

Jackets are a huge part of this sale. We found a women's Esley metallic and shearling jacket for just $40, along with some Oak perforated leather moto styles and leather-and-suede designs for $120. Guys' picks include Oak wool peacoats for $50 and lightweight denim jackets for $40.

Onto the tops! There are loads of tees (starting at just $5 for the house-brand cotton varieties). There are also Jonathan Simkhai women's denim-and-leather pullovers for $90, Navie quilted sweatshirts for $30, and A.Ok oxford shirts for $30.

Bottoms are mostly skinny jeans, from the house line ($25) and Cheap Monday ($30). There's a wide variety of sizes, but you'll have to dig. We also spotted Oak suede Bermuda shorts for $40 and leather pants for both sexes, marked $120.

There aren't many dresses—most of the clothing skews super casual—but we did find a Jonathan Simkhai color-blocked style ($60) and a Kai Aakmann pleather dress for $50.

Accessories are limited to shoes, but there are some amazing picks here, especially for the ladies. Look for OAK creepers and side-zip booties for $50. Guys will find STRD by Volta sneakers for $40, as well as YES unisex slip-on sneakers with an all-over "F*CK OFF" print for $20.

All in all, the selection is great, but be prepared for serious lines and a mildly frustrating shopping experience. There's no fitting room in the basement sale space, so you'll have to strip down if you need to try stuff on. Staff will be restocking, and further markdowns are possible. Note that this sale is credit card only, so pay your bills before heading in. —Gillian Fuller
