Rebecca Minkoff is kicking off what sounds like an ambitious year-long plan with a fall 2014 opening date for her long-awaited Soho store (the designer's first-ever), followed by two California locations in 2015.
The isn't Minkoff's first foray into brick-and-mortar retail—she tested the waters with an appointment-only boutique in her Flatiron headquarters this spring—but after going hard with e-commerce and digital marketing, it seems like she wants a permanent way to connect with her shoppers IRL. "We are particularly interested in starting in those markets to continue our ongoing conversation with our millennial customer in a retail setting," the designer told WWD.
To jumpstart the label's world domination, Minkoff has hired omnipresent model-slash-artist Langley Fox to front her fall 2014 campaign (above). "I wanted to have Langley star in our ad campaign the second I met her," the designer said, adding that Fox "personifies the Rebecca Minkoff girl."
