Today we checked back in on Scoop's seasonal closet clean-up sale, which kicked off two weeks ago. As we initially reported, staff has been restocking everything periodically, and loads of new gear has been added in both the mens and the women's sections. In case you need a refresher, everything in the sale section is discounted an additional 40% from the price marked on the tag— meaning you'll score serious deals (up to 80% off, in some cases).
The women's section is larger than the men's, like it was when we first checked out the sale. We found a lot more fall gear than we did last time, however: expect to see cozy Helmut Lang knits for $95 and Haute Hippie oversized tie-dye sweaters for $155. If you're not ready for fall just yet, don't fret: you can still scoop up summer threads like Alice + Olivia x Scoop leather crop tops for $155 and Rebecca Taylor floral chiffon tees for $113.
We found loads more in the pants department than we did on the first go: the staff added a whole section in the back devoted entirely to denim. There are Citizens of Humanity denim minis ($89) and AG jeans for $77 here, while racks towards the front hold dressier bottoms including Jonathan Simkahai leather skorts for $215 and T by Alexander Wang twill skinny-leg pants for $77.
The selection of jackets isn't much different than it was the first time we went, but we did find some new picks, including an Andrew Marc cropped leather jacket for $395 and a T by Alexander Wang boucle overcoat for $209.
The two racks of dresses near the back of the shop are packed. Most of the designs are summery, but we spotted a few great transitional pieces, including a Missoni sleeveless turtleneck dress for $317 and an Opening Ceremony long-sleeved velvet skater dress for $131.
As for accessories, like last time, the selection is limited: you'll still be able to find Rag & Bone's Harrow booties in navy for $209 (but only in sizes 6 through 7.5), as well as some Marc x Marc Jacobs carryalls for $251 and Matt Bernson shearling-lined booties for $161.
Two weeks ago, the men's section was dominated by summer gear—but this time around we found tons of sweaters, including cable-knit styles by Theory for $65 and striped DSquared2 designs, which you can see in the gallery, for $155. You'll also find Shipley & Halmos oxfords for $71, along with more casual graphic tees from John Varvatos and Paul Smith for $29 and $35, respectively.
We didn't find any men's pants last time, but the sale stock now includes a solid selection of bottoms, including Citizens of Humanity jeans for $77 and Gant cargo pants for $59. As for jackets, there are loads of lightweight styles from brands including Ami and MM6 Maison Martin Margiela.
A Scoop NYC publicist told us that this sale will wrap up on Labor Day, so head to either of the store's locations to shop before it ends. For time and location info, check out the Dealfeed below. —Gillian Fuller
