Babel Fair is taking its international treasure-haul across the East River. Following in the footsteps of fellow Indie 38 standby Courtshop, the eclectic Nolita boutique is opening a Brooklyn outpost on Bedford Avenue this September—an expansion owner Erica Kiang previously didn't think she could pull off.

"Recently, I've been looking at Williamsburg. I wish I had gotten in it a little bit earlier, because right now it's hitting the ceiling," Kiang told us in December. "The last time I looked was 2009, and now it's just ridiculous compared to what I pay here. So we won't be on Bedford anytime soon." What a difference eight months makes.
