After leading the School of Fashion at Parsons the New School for Design for six years, dean Simon Collins is stepping down at the end of this year. According to WWD, he emailed his colleagues yesterday afternoon to say that he would be turning his attention to consulting on design. "Design thinking can be applied to any industry — legal, banking, political," he told the paper.

He'll be spending much of the coming months in Asia, where he will "share his philosophies about design" with the governments of China, South Korea, and Thailand.

"I love the school massively and I will always be indebted to it. I shall always support it any way that I can," Collins said.
