The name Margaret O'Leary may not be familiar in New York, but the Irish-born, San Francisco-based knitwear designer has been dressing West Coasters in cashmere sweaters since 1990. And now O'Leary—who has ten boutiques between Seattle and Santa Monica—is taking her business bicoastal with a new shop at 279 Mott Street.
The space, which officially opened on Friday, is stuffed with the designer's ultra-soft knits in muted shades of gray and cream—like what a character in a Nancy Meyers movie would wear while curled up on her plush bay window seat, sipping coffee from a stoneware mug.
