There's been a lot of chatter about the "next Chelsea Market" going on this week—neighborhoods from the Lower East Side to Bushwick are clamoring to create a next-level shopping and dining experience that's all their own.
But don't think that the OG is resting on its laurels—our friends at Curbed NY have the renderings for a long-ago approved plan to add 300,000 square feet of (very futuristic-looking) office space to the existing structure.
We'd guess this is more or less what Chelsea Market would look like if that spaceship from Star Trek landed on it. Though the addition won't add any retail space to the venue, current offerings could attract some fashionable tenants. Perhaps some of those brands that Coach banned from the nearby Hudson Yards could end up here? Just a guess.
