The Kardashian sisters are taking over an entire building on the northwest corner of Spring and Lafayette Streets, for what will presumably be another Dash boutique or a relocation of the original one on Spring Street a few blocks west. The Villager explains that a retail space will take up the two bottom floors (one of which used to house the Lafayette Smoke Shop) and the remaining three will become office spaces. That's five full floors.
The most unoffensive thing about the original Dash in Soho is that, on the corner of Spring and Greene, it's tucked far enough away from major congestion. The new location puts the store right outside the 6 train—a spot whose sidewalks are already unbearable on a weekend.
The director of the Soho Alliance, Sean Sweeney, told the paper:
The Kardashians' first foray into Soho during their store's launch on Spring St. in 2010 turned into a mob fest with arrests for rowdiness—a public-relations fiasco for the sisters. Hopefully, they learned that Soho ain't L.A. They should show respect to the neighbors and the neighborhood. Whether they will adapt to the Soho essence or else stand out like a tawdry Hawaiian shirt on Hollywood Boulevard is their decision
