Following a March 27th two-alarm fire that damaged thousands of dresses, designer Reem Acra is suing the developer of her former Garment District studio for a whopping $2.5 million. The lawsuit states that contractors were using blowtorches and doing wire work when the fire started, and it took more than 100 firefighters to put out the blaze that damaged Acra's 2,400 gowns, plus yards of fabric that retails for up to $900 a square foot.
