New York City could be home to the first-ever Trademark as soon as next weekend. Yesterday, we stopped by 95 Grand Street to check out progress on the store, and construction workers told us that the store should be ready either Sunday, August 3rd or Monday, August 4th.
Lest you forget, the brand is designed by Pookie and Louisa Burch, daughters to C. Wonder's Christopher Burch, and former stepdaughters to Tory Burch—who is planning to open a massive flagship just a couple blocks over.
W magazine recently caught up with the sisters to discuss the store's interior, which was envisioned by Swedish architect Andreas Bozarth Fornell. Expect to find blue-tinted concrete floors, wood-paneled walls, and a sheet metal cash wrap.
He "has a minimal and classic aesthetic but with an element of surprise, just like we do," Pookie told the magazine.
"I wanted to flip the old notion that people should understand a whole store at five steps in," Bozarth Fornell added. "I wanted Trademark to feel like a new discovery."
