The Rachel Comey sample sale opens at 10am this morning, and we expect to see a line outside of the St. Patrick's Youth Center Gymnasium in Nolita. We stopped by the preview last night and were thrilled to see sample shoes going for $100, with the buy two pairs for $100 and get the third pair for $50 deal in place. This year, they included racks of clothing samples in the deal, along with the sign stating that each additional item was only $75.

The sample shoes are organized by size and the majority of styles are sandals and flats, perfect to wear on your trip out of the city this weekend. We spotted patent leather flat sandals in light pink and Kelly green, black gladiator wedges, blue leather clogs, woven platform styles and a slew of metallic sandals, all for $100.

The center of the gymnasium was stocked with current season shoe styles, all for under $250. If you're looking for an update to your favorite booties, there were many options in a variety of heel heights, shoe sizes, and leathers. We found berry suede booties for $200, an abundance of low heeled, clay colored boots for $175 and many options in solid black with prices starting around $150.

We spotted quirky styles that Rachel Comey is known for, including snakeskin printed suede loafers, metallic sling back flat sandals, green snakeskin wedges, and a great variety of menswear brogues and loafers.

The men's shoe selection is very limited, with only one boot style, a few leather sneakers, and dress shoes in brown and ivory, all for $75. Sizes are also limited in the men's section. We wouldn't recommend waiting in line to shop the men's shoes, but if you have a lady friend going to the sale, have her scout out the section for you.

Among the women's apparel, there's a great selection of resort and spring 2014 styles for 50% off retail prices. Crop tops with lace details are $150, delicate open weave skirts are $316 and shorts in many styles and lengths are $150-$170. An entire rack of denim is well stocked, including denim tops, shirts, dresses and jeans priced from $50-$350.

Swimsuits are laid out on a table and include bikini separates for $50 and one-piece styles for $150.

If you're already thinking about fall, you won't be disappointed. A table of sweaters is going for $100-$185 while a rack of statement making outerwear featured an embossed leather jacket with sweater knit sleeves for $397, a black coat with crocodile patch pockets for $450, and an ivory shearling coat priced at $822. Neoprene sweatshirts with crochet knit details are $230.

This year, the air conditioning was turned on in the gymnasium, making for a more enjoyable shopping experience than seasons past. The bathroom is available for trying clothes on with some privacy, but there are plenty of full length mirrors scattered around the gym.
