Rumbling stomachs everywhere craving something sweet were abruptly silenced this week when Crumbs announced—with one day's notice!—that it would be closing all of its stores. Though the shuttered brand could easily crowdsource at least one new location if everyone who posted a Facebook eulogy just donated $1, an easier solution may be in the works.
Eater NY reports that the investor group "plans to provide the chain with financing and hopes to ultimately buy it." The company also owns a "healthy" candy company, Sweet Pete's Candy, so it looks like they're trying to round out their dessert portfolio.
