Start plotting your summer DIY projects now, because the new Michaels Arts and Crafts store that's headed for 675 Avenue of the Americas in Chelsea will open late next month. And unlike most big-box stores that transition from the suburbs to the city, the new space will maintain those nice, wide aisles, so you won't find yourself slammed between sketchbooks and ceramics.
The store, which is the company's second in the city, will open at 9:45am on July 20th with special prizes and $2,000 worth of gift cards dished out hourly. The store will also host free craft demos from 6pm to 8pm, Monday through Friday of the first week, and include a class calendar that'll "inspire every crafter at any level, from beginner to expert."
