Uncover the History of Lingerie at FIT's Latest Museum Exhibit

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Today marks the opening of the Museum at FIT's latest exhibition—though there isn't all that much to display, if you know what we mean. Exposed: The History of Lingerie takes visitors through more than 300 years of underthings, from nightgowns that kind of look like ball gowns to the more standard corsets you'd find today.

Click through the gallery above to check out some of the items—organized from least to most coverage—and be sure to check them out in person between now and November 15th.
