This morning, we headed to local jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher's showroom at 207 Lafayette Street to check out the brand's sample sale that's going on until tomorrow afternoon. When we arrived at 11:50am, we were told only five people could shop at a time; luckily, after about a half hour they bumped that number up to ten.
Inside, we found five tables full of the designer's signature edgy jewelry at a decent discount. The sale seemed a bit unorganized, though: upon entry, shoppers were told to drop their purses in a pile on the floor (no bag check) and there were no price lists or prices marked on individual items, which made shopping a little daunting.
All of that aside, the selection is varied—you'll find rings, bracelets and a few earrings in gunmetal, brass, and rose gold at all different price points.
Rings make up a large portion of the sale, and range in price from $45 to $200, Some highlights include brass spider statement rings for $100, screw-shaped rings (which are available in three finishes) for $50, and gunmetal chainlink styles for $150.
Bracelets range from $75 for delicate, unadorned bangles to $700 for oversized metal cuffs with screw detailing. We liked the $400 brass skull cuff, Fisher's signature cuffs with various words and phrases (like NYC and WIFEY) for $150 each, and starburst-shaped bangles, also for $150.
There were only a few pairs of earrings available when we were there, marked between $120 and $200. Look for angular brass drop earrings for $200 and simple hoops for $120. A sign on one table indicated that there were necklaces available as well, but we didn't see any.
Overall, the sale is packed with some really cool picks, but keep in mind that some of the prices are still a bit high. Some styles will be restocked, but not all and there won't be anything new added. Additionally, there will be no further markdowns—sorry, guys.—Gillian Fuller
