The bi-annual R13 sample sale got off to a busy start this morning, despite the lack of advertising and last-minute invite that went out this weekend. Apparently that was all it took, because when we arrived a little after the 11am opening, shoppers were heading toward the communal dressing room with armfuls of denim. We couldn't blame them: jeans are going for $40-$60.

As always, there was a large table with folded jeans organized neatly by size, style and wash, with sizes ranging from 24-31. Those who wear size 27 are in luck, because they had an extra rack full of different denim styles in size 27. Smaller sizes were going fast, but there was plenty of white denim in stock for sizes 24 and 25.

There are loads of their signature chaps style, mostly leather with white denim and leather with metallic denim, both for $75. We only saw one pair of chaps that were made in the classic black leather with blue denim and they were priced at $175.

One rack held a few knits that included hairy black and white stripe long sleeves, distressed sweatshirts and basic black tees, all for $50. Flannel plaid shirts were going for $75, while the denim jackets were only $60, but they were going fast.

There's one rack of novelty styles, including metallic silver jeans, silver leather mini skirts, graffiti print jeans, and miscellaneous shorts styles in varying sizes. Among the outerwear we found black leather bomber jackets and leather moto jackets with zebra pony hair bodies, both going for $400.

The sales staff was very helpful, so don't hesitate to ask for your size if you don't see it. The large communal fitting room has a limit of ten items at a time, so shop accordingly. No word on whether there will be further reductions, but if you are in the market for jeans, it doesn't get much better than this sale. See the gallery for photos and a full price list.
