Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Travel accessories brand The Transience is taking its practice of made-in-New-York bags and going one step further at its new Bowery pop-up shop, which opens today. The space is a store-slash-design-studio, so shoppers will be able to customize their purchases and see exactly how they're made.
The bags are constructed from luxe leathers and skins, and emphasize functionality with multi-purpose bodies. Their basics collection features a large convertible duffle tote that can morph into three different shapes, convertible backpacks that turn into shoulder bags, totes with removable straps, and collapsable dopp kits.
The store will be open from June 19th through Sunday, June 29th, from 11am to 7pm daily.
