Pretty Gowns and $50 Shoes at the Rebecca Taylor Sample Sale

The Rebecca Taylor sample sale is going on now at 260 Fifth Avenue, with up to 75% off the brand's spring and summer collections. Pricing is straight forward and starts at $10 for lingerie (which wasn't unboxed yet when we were there); $50 for swimwear (like floral green bikini tops and bottoms); $59 for tees; $79 for blouses and shorts; $89 for skirts; and $99 for novelty tops, pants, sweatshirts, and sweaters.

Basic dresses are $129, jackets are $159, and embellished dresses are $199. All leather jackets and vests are $299. There are no samples.

Everything is organized by size (0 to 12/extra small to large). Sweaters are stacked in bins near the staircase and organized by size, from extra-small to large. Two racks of beautiful gowns are in the back and are all priced at $299. Sizing is scarce for each style, but we spotted everything from size 0 to 12 mixed in. A beaded pleated gown originally $1,195 caught our eye, along with a few elegant pleated chiffon gowns.

Denims is also available and stacked in the back of the room. When we were there this morning, the jeans were still being unboxed, so we don't have much intel on what sizes are available. We do know, however, that they are all going for $75, and brands include AG and Citizen of Humanity. We did spot these shorts in a bin.

We saw these shorts in gray and black, these perforated leather skirts, plenty of these tweed skirts, and something similar to these. Jacket-wise, we found this elegant brocade jacket and this leather-tweed combo jacket.

By the cashier, a friendly staffer is overseeing the accessories section. There are $50 handbags, including the Kitty bags in different prints and the Anicka Croc tote that normally retails for $595. At this price, we're pretty sure these will be snatched up quickly. Wallets are also $50, and there are also knitted cashmere scarves and beanies by White +Warren for $30.

In the jewelry trays (there two of them), necklaces, rings, cuffs, and some collaboration pieces (like 2 Bandits x Rebecca Taylor) are $40, and charm bracelets are only $10. The best deal is on this flat spike 14k solid gold necklace by Vale, which is only $40. Other accessories include belts for $20 and these silk-cashmere scarves for $30 (originally $195).

A table by the dressing room has a few boxes of shoes, including sandals and booties, and they're all $50. The shearling booties (originally $595) with genuine sheepskin in black and tan are a great deal. The booties come in a few sizes, but some of the sandals are stocked with only one single pair. We did see these Viola Dorsay heels in a few sizes, though.
