We checked back into the Tory Burch sample sale yesterday afternoon, just after the lunch rush, to survey the scene and were pleased to find that the lines have finally died down. We experienced no wait to get in, to check bags, or to check out, but we did wait to get into the shoe area, where staffers are keeping a tight watch on the number of people in and out.
Markdowns have not yet happened and staffers were unable to tell us whether or not price cuts are coming, but there is still plenty of stock going out onto the floor, so discounts may be in the works.
Shoes are still looking good, with only a couple of styles running low. Even those with limited sizing are still available in popular sizes like 7, 8 and 9. As of now, there will be no restocking of shoes, but a staffer reported there is a slim chance they may be getting more in.
In the same restricted area with the shoes, swimwear has been reduced to just a few bins. An associate is on hand to assist with finding your desired size and color, but we witnessed several customers walking away disappointed with the remaining selection.
Work appropriate dresses, jackets, and slacks dominate the clothing selection, with plenty of navy available in all sizes (0-16). Quirkier patterned pieces are running very low, but those lucky smaller sizes (especially size 2) will have an easier time finding cute things.
Bags remain plentiful, but like the rest of the sale, have not been marked down. Prices still range from the mid-$100's to $275.
Overall, it's not such an exciting sale after hundreds of people have gone through the doors in the last couple of days. The sale continues today and Friday, from 11am to 7pm at Clothingline.—Riian Kant-McCormick
Update: The sale has been extended through Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
