Every cool-girl boutique worth its succulent wall has a handful of Rachel Comey dresses on its racks, or a few pairs of Mars booties hanging out in the shoe department. But to see the designer's entire spring collection all at once, in her new Crosby Street store—the jacquard crop tops next to their matching high-waisted shorts, the raw-edged denim dresses cozying up to the linen blouses that beg to be layered underneath—is almost more than our fangirl hearts can handle.
The space, a former rug shop, is airy and minimal, but still inviting—thanks to natural touches like a vaulted wood beam ceiling, and a concrete floor dotted with pebbles sourced from Comey's favorite Long Island beach.
A shoe pedestal highlighting the full spectrum of the designer's footwear, from pinking shear-edged loafers to brushed silver suede heels, serves as the shop's centerpiece. Do three laps around it and you'll know if you can really walk in those fringed clogs.
