The past few months have felt like an actual ice age, but swimsuit season is (finally) just around the corner. We checked out the annual Lenny Niemeyer swim sample sale today, and we definitely recommend going if you need new beach gear. Prices start at $10 and max out at $250 for current and past-season swimwear and cover ups. Styles will be restocked throughout the sale.
The sale is in the brand's Soho showroom, and includes swimwear, cover ups, and beach accessories in sizes extra small through large. Boxes in the entry way of the sale house past-season separates and samples, ranging from $10 to $50. Highlights include a white high-waisted bikini for $30, sequined one-pieces for $20, and mix-and-match bottoms for $10 each.
Each item is in its own plastic bag, so it may take a little searching to find the perfect piece, but the staff has more stock in the back if you're looking for a specific style.
Current-season items are more expensive, ranging from around $90 to $250 for runway pieces. Expect to find deep v-neck one pieces and tie-waist underwire bikinis for $90, bejeweled one and two pieces for $100, and sporty short-sleeved suits for $90.
The ratio of one pieces and bikinis is pretty equal, and you'll find both patterned and solid styles. Also on offer are a good deal of the brand's best selling maillot halter one-pieces for $90, which can be worn three different ways.
A small selection of beach-appropriate clothing and accessories is also available, ranging from $30 to $175. We found tie-waist chiffon dresses for $100, printed rompers for $120, and a handful of $30 floppy straw hats.
Also in the showroom, oddly enough, is a concurrent sex-toy sale from the luxury toy brand Lelo. Vibrators, personal massagers, and beads are all on offer at wholesale prices, priced from $26-$126 (originally $44-$199). While we're still not entirely sure what these toys have to do with swimwear, it's an added bonus for sure.
There's a makeshift fitting room in the showroom, although it's communal and you'll still have to change in front of other shoppers. Items will be restocked throughout the sale, which runs through Saturday, but there will be no further markdowns. We recommend stocking up on the past-season items and samples, as they'll probably sell out the quickest.
