In an effort to cater to the jet set customer, Kiton is set to debut its second New York store this Friday inside the Four Seasons Hotel. Though the brand has a flagship store and showroom inside a 54th Street townhouse and is also available at major department stores like Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman, this 500-square-foot shop will only carry their menswear and accessories, including shoes, ties, and small leather goods.
"Our customers stay at Four Seasons all over the world," Antonio Paone, U.S. president and co-designer of the men's collection, told WWD, explaining that he found the space without even looking for one and immediately snatched it up.
It features an entrance within the hotel as well as one on 58th Street, offering access to passersby. It was formerly a caviar shop.
This is one of 12 stores that the brand plans to open in the next five years, in addition to the 30 locations they already have. "It's at the request of the market that we open stores," according to Paone. "In department stores, we're just one of many [labels], but in our own stores, we can really show the development of the brand."
