Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Housing Works is once again taking it outside with its Open Air Street Fair, shutting down the block in front of its Crosby Street store this Sunday, June 1 from 10am through 5pm. The fair will feature a huge selection of donated books, records, and CDs for $1 each, live music, kids' activities, thrift shop selects, Van Leeuwen ice cream, and more.
While this is just a one-day event, there's plenty of other outdoor markets you can hit up all season long.
