Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It looks like the space formerly occupied by Freitag is getting another international tenant. Bowery Boogie reports that Tokyobike, a Japanese company that manufactures bicycles, is expected to open later this week.

"In the same way the mountain bike was designed for the mountains so tokyobike was designed for Tokyo," their website reads. "The bikes are designed to be light to ride with an emphasis on comfort over speed. The bike is simply a way to enjoy your city, as much about the journey as the destination." They also operate in London, Sydney, Singapore, and Berlin.
