Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

FLATIRON—To celebrate their collaboration with Tenoverten, the J.Crew store at 91 Fifth Avenue will be offering free manicures all weekend long, from 11am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Have a look at the polish colors here.

HARLEM—Tomorrow, Harlem Haberdashery at 245 Lenox Avenue will host its second-anniversary party from 4pm to 8pm. Festivities include live painting by local artist Jay West, retro cocktails, food, a live screening of the Kentucky Derby, and more. Attire appropriate for the latter is requested.

GREENPOINT—Stop by the Brooklyn Night Bazaar during the day Sunday for the BUST Magazine Craftacular, "Primped!" The event will feature 90+ vendors, including vintage clothing sellers, indie jewelry designers, niche beauty brands, and more. The Fringe Salon will be offering free braids and bang trims, and the all-girl ukelele band The Prettiots will perform mid-afternoon. The event runs from 11am to 6pm; more details here.

PARK SLOPE—The Modern Chemist will fete its new location on Fourth Avenue and Sackett Street tomorrow, from noon to 6pm, with a 25% storewide discount, a raffle, giveaways, and activities for adults and—since this is Park Slope—children. (Face painting!!)
