A wonderful spring day like today could only be improved with a sample sale as beautifully set up as the one by Adam Lippes, which kicked off this morning inside a West Village brownstone. Not only is the location easy on the eyes (no messy racks here), but with everything marked down to up to 80% off retail, prices are easy on the wallet for shoppers as well.

Update, 5/15: Prices have been reduced another 10% to 30% off for the final day.

Prices start at $75 for mesh tees and top off at $550 for embroidered gowns. The majority of the merchandise is from the spring 2014 and pre-spring 2014 collections, with the best deals on embellished scuba sweatshirts for $225 and silk trench and opera coats going for $400-$500—a steep discount from their retail prices of $1280 and $1970.

We were happy to see each style available in a range of sizes, although some items were going fast and we were told there won't be any restocking. Classic Adam Lippes styles, including a gold track pant with black piping for $140 and the Guayabera>boxy shirt for $185, are also at the sale. Culottes, one of the biggest trends for spring, are available in black silk for $140, white lace with black details for $170 and leather for $395. Tailored trousers in classic black and white are $170, but are only available in sizes 4 and up.

We overheard shoppers picking out their outfits to wear to this evening's MoMA Party in the Garden, and they had many options to choose from. The long sleeve white gown with black floral embroidery was $550, while the leopard jacquard skirts were only $295. There are slip dresses for $250, with opera coats to match for $400.

There's one rack of actual samples—some are one-of-a-kind—but they're priced the same as the stock merchandise. There's no dressing room at the sale, but one large full length mirror and one oversized horizontal mirror hanging above the table. The sale runs from 9am to 7pm daily at 32 Bank Street, and wraps up this Thursday.
