Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

A post from The Shophound alerted us to the fact that Freemans Sporting Club on Bleecker Street is looking rather vacant. We called the Rivington Street store and confirmed that the West Village outpost is indeed closed.

The store is still listed on their website, so it's unclear whether the brand is still affiliated with the address. We'll keep an eye on it and update you as we get more information.
