When Brooklyn Flea reopened for the season last month—along with the city's other great outdoor markets—Williamsburg was left out of the loop. Local residents got in a tizzy about crowding at the East River State Park once Smorgasburg was added to the scene, and the market voluntarily left to keep the peace.
Now Gothamist has learned that it's moving to 50 Kent Avenue, just a few blocks north, and will be open this Sunday, May 4th, from 10am through 5pm, and every Sunday for the rest of the season. It probably won't make much of a dent in the crowding problem locals were so worried about, but at least it's on a different day than Smorgasburg now.
