The lawsuits that ultimately led to the demise of the internship program at Condé Nast has been settled out of court. (Details of the settlement are not available, and there's no word on whether they'll be taking back interns anytime soon.) Two students had sued the behemoth publisher—one, a 2009 intern at Vogue, where "editors failed to give her the recommendation...to earn course credit" despite working 12-plus hour days; the other, a 2010 intern at The New Yorker who claimed he was performing tasks typically done for pay.
