It may not be a mansion, but that doesn't mean it's not luxurious. Cartier has just opened the doors to its temporary flagship at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue, its home for the next two years while its iconic 52nd Street location undergoes renovations. WWD reports that its 8,000 square feet of selling space makes it the brand's largest store in the world.
The last thing Cartier wanted to do was make this new store feel temporary, North American president and CEO Emmanuel Perrin told the paper. So that's why the two-story locale has "high ceilings decorated with chandeliers, oak paneling and glass display fixtures trimmed in bronze."
It makes sense that they want to keep up with their new, chic neighbors, which includes The Plaza and Bergdorf Goodman. They're also right behind the Apple store, so tourists will certainly be able to find their new spot.
