Spring is finally in the air today and there's nothing like a little sample sale shopping to celebrate. We stopped by the Kara and A Peace Treaty sample sale during the preview this morning and found discounts up to 60% off leather handbags, jewelry, and brightly printed silk and cashmere scarves.
KARA bags include styles from the fall 2013 and resort 2014 collections, with the lavender leather bags looking particularly fresh. Leather backpacks and their signature Dry Bag were trend right, with mesh insets and priced nicely from $220 to $260, with the smaller Stowaway style priced at $130.
Large KARA tote bags made of lightweight leather in black and sand are $260, lavender and maroon color ways are only $170, while the mini totes in all colors are going for $80. Calf hair styles included a pouch for $130, and the Double Date style mixed with pebbled leather for $230. Not quite spring appropriate, but still swoon-worthy, shearling bags are available in sand, maroon and lavender and priced from $90-$250.
A Piece Treaty offered a huge selection of one of a kind jewelry, ranging from $25 to $150, and the fall 2013 collection was also available for 50% off. Silk crepe and chiffon scarves went for $65-$85 and we spotted a few cotton silk blend scarves for as low as $25.
Easy to wear caftans in muted stripes are $150, as well as lightweight cashmere scarves in bright graphic prints, which are perfect to wear on a day like today. Given their company's peaceful practices, keeping nearly extinct techniques alive and employing out of work artisans, even the higher priced goods are well worth the money.
Be sure to scroll through the photo gallery for photos of more merchandise. The sale is well stocked and goes through Saturday, April 5th, from noon to 7pm today and tomorrow, and from noon to 6pm on Saturday at 136 Baxter Street.
