We recently brought you the news that Henri Bendel would discontinue its third-party sales this fall—yet they've already placed fall orders from those vendors. A seller who wished to remain anonymous said that the department store would honor the orders made just weeks before its announcement to focus on the in-house brand, but "it plans to deeply mark down third-party merchandise as soon as it hits the floor," posing a major problem for other retailers who carry those brands.
