The Meatpacking District's latest opening isn't a designer flagship or a blink-and-you'll-miss-it-pop-up, but something the neighborhood is lacking: a multi-brand store full of under-the-radar-labels. (Owen could only shoulder that responsibility alone for so long.)
In Support Of—the new airy, astro-turf-wallpapered space dreamed up by Aikaz Showroom founder Tanya Sheikh and her business partner Ivan Gilkes—is a showcase for William Okpo's African-barbershop-poster-inspired prints, Nomia's sexy cut-out designs, and Louise Amstrup's floaty dresses covered in clipart mishmashes of embroidered ice cream sundaes, pink flamingoes, and plastic vending machine rings.
While the store's name is apt, it's impossible to Google. ("In support of nyc" brings up child support laws, while "in support of instagram" brings up impassioned essays on the importance of the app.) So, here's their website, and their Insta account. Both must-follows for their steady stream of new product photos, and expert use of emojis.
