People packed into Chelsea Market today for the for the supremely weird sample sale combining merch from high-end shoe brand Bruno Magli, Bonobos menswear, and Rachel Zoe womenswear. The 3-in-1 sale is offering up to 70% off retail prices for all brands. While there was no line to get in when we stopped by this afternoon, there was quite a line for checkout, and a plenty of crowds to get through while browsing.
The Rachel Zoe area had plenty of racks and discounts. Set prices for samples were $45 for tops, sweaters and shorts; $59 for skirts and pants; $69 for dresses; $99 for jackets and $149 for all leather items.
All other clothing was 65% off, with prices ranging from $52 to $400. We spotted sizes 2 to 10, and a lot of size 8. There were several racks with sweaters and blouses, a small rack of denim, and another for blazers.
Surprisingly, there weren't many fur items, but there were lots of leather pieces, including jackets, skirts and shirts, that were marked down to $173.
The sale also included shoes from sizes 6 to 11, though there was a limited range of styles. We spotted a lot of 7 1/2, 8 1/2, and 9 1/2. A small table of sample shoes seemed to have already been cleaned out, but there were a few pairs left when we were there. The sample shoes are size 7, and $30 for flats and $50 for boots and booties. All other shoe prices are marked with a handy chart on the wall.
On the other side is the Bonobos section, which was much smaller but still a had a decent selection. Men's dress shirts and woven shirts were $29, t-shirts were $19, vests were $29, and pants were $49.
There were plenty of pants in a wide variety of colors, styles, and patterns—we even spotted a pair of American flag pants. Bottoms took up most of the racks, but there were still a few other things worth checking out, particularly the sweaters, as well as outerwear for $79.
And finally, the Bruno Magli section had a mix of pieces for men and women, but a wider selection for men—it was mostly men's dress shoes from sizes 7 1/2 to 15. There were a couple of sample shoes in size 9 for $89 for styles including boots and sneakers.
Leather bags and suitcases took up another table, with full-leather styles for $99 and leather/canvas bags for $75. For the women, however, there weren't as many bags, which had the same prices.
Women's shoes ranged in European sizes from 36 to 41, and while there weren't many to choose from, they're still worth a quick look. All shoes were $119, and boots were $129. Sample shoes were size 7 and went for $79.
There was also a small rack of leather items, with outerwear and dresses for $149 and bottoms for $99.
