We made it to last night's preview of the C. Wonder sample sale (doors officially opened this morning), and found a room overflowing with colorful home goods and accessories at up to 75% off.
Home goods, tableware, and other decorations take up a significant portion of the space, spread out across several massive tables in the middle of the room, and we were told that lots more would still be available for restocking. There's also plenty of clothes, accessories, shoes, and jewelry to shop—see it all broken down by category after the jump.
Home Goods
Signature C. Wonder monogrammed items include iPhone cases, dishtowels, porcelain mugs, stationery, coasters, and more. Prices ranged from $1 for random trinkets (teddy bear, Ping-Pong set, etc.) to $8 chunky wooden napkin rings and decorative plates to $25 buttery soft pillow covers and throws. Nothing is priced above $50, including chic pierced ginger jars, which currently retail for as much as $78 on the C. Wonder website.
Nearby, we saw everything from rows of candles, picture frames, and pet bowls for $10 each, a complete chevron picnic basket, and yoga mats in bright pink and green. Dishware prints spanned from polka dots to zigzags to herringbone to animal ceramics. For as little as $15, you can purchase the entire tabletop set you'll need for an afternoon tea party (complete with serving platter), which of course, you will regularly start to host in celebration of your new plates.
Clothing
In clothes, we saw lots of bright, sunny pieces perfect for the finally-improving weather. Of note were rows and rows of crisp cotton tank tops in every color ($12), striped tunics, denim button-downs, and plenty of airy printed blouses ($45). Outerwear, including cotton pea coats and faux-fur vests, was the priciest category at $70, and racks of summer shifts and skirts/dresses were $55. All sizes are available and there are multiples of each item, many of which are current-season pieces.
Shoes and Accessories
Shoes include flats and sandals priced at $35 and boots and heels for $65. We saw plenty of T-strap sandals and leather thongs, as well as a selection of suede booties and clogs. Racks of bags, clutches, and makeup cases are lined up nearby, priced at $45, $25, and $20 respectively. We loved the elegant envelope clutches and adorable beach totes.
Small leather belts are $20 and worth a dig through the bins, and sunglasses are $15. Save the best for last and spend some time at the jewelry racks, where statement necklaces and edgy studded bracelets are only $18 and fun cocktail rings are $12. (We may have left with a piece of jewelry or two ourselves...)
This is C. Wonder's second-ever sample sale, and it'll be going on all week through Sunday, April 20th at 260 Fifth Avenue. Prices are almost certainly guaranteed to drop toward the end of the week, but try to stop by earlier if you can (while everything remains organized and color-coded). Check out the gallery above for a better idea of what's in stock.—Marina Chary
