The Brooklyn Navy Yard—it's a thing now, guys. After Alexander Wang nearly broke New York Fashion Week by presenting his fall 2014 collection at the site, eliciting several complaints from the fashion set, Dior is planning to show its Cruise 2015 collection there on May 7.
"We wanted the show to feel very New York, and the Navy Yard's view and space captures the city," a spokeswoman for Dior told WWD.
But unlike Wang's February show, Dior's has a transportation plan. The paper reports that ferry service will shuttle invitees to and from Manhattan via a dock at 34th Street and FDR Drive. "Specific transportation instructions will accompany invitations to the show," according to WWD. However, complaints about the commute are sure to abound regardless.
